Portraits in the Audience

At the Portrait Society Conference, everyone is a model—wittingly or not—including a member of the audience near me.

Portraits in the Audience

This sketch uses a limited palette of gouache: Light Red by Shinhan Pass, and then the rest by M. Graham: Yellow Ochre, Ultramarine Blue, Ivory Black, and Titanium White. (Links take you to Amazon pages).

"Really Love that red orange in contrast to the blues. love that blue-green in the hair. Nice hybrid of the Zorn palette here. Do you mind telling me which brand of paint the light red was? I would love to use this palette.
    THanks
    Matt"

"Matt, for this one I'm using a limited palette of gouache: Light Red by Shinhan Pass, and then the rest by M. Graham: Yellow Ochre, Ultramarine Blue, Ivory Black, and Titanium White. (Links take you to Amazon pages). You could substitute the Shinhan for another brand probably, but it's a nice iron red."

"Hi James Thank you for the info. Interesting I looked up that Light Red by Shinhan Pass and it has PR101 (same as most Burnt Sienna) and PR60:1 which I am not that familiar with. Not sure what other paint has this unusual mix. Might have to give this color a test drive! Again thanks for putting this on my radar."
