I was supposed to be watching the US Open Men's Championship Tennis match tonight. I was so excited, having followed the very competitive and exciting tournament. However, after a disappointing rain delay yesterday, play was postponed again when the drops started to fall. By the time play resumed, television coverage slots had closed and I could only get it via radio. So I am listening to the match in the old school fashion as I simultaneously surf the web. Not too bad when I come up with a discovery such as this!
Aren't these book jackets just spectacular?
Coralie Bickford-Smith is a senior cover designer at
Penguin Books, and you can see more of her work by visiting her
website. I have several of her
Clothbound Series. I started collecting them after Kate, my sister, gave me three for Christmas a year ago. I am really over-the-moon with the
F. Scott Fitzgeralds and
The Penguin Poems for Love. They are going on my wish list immediately.
You can also read an interview with Coralie, via
The Casual Optimist, in which she discusses the many facets of her career in design - Penguin, the books she loves, her inspirations, etc.
