Classic and whimsical were the two key words Smith used to describe what she and her husband were aiming for when renovating and decorating the apartment. I think you can really see that in the way traditional elements, like the fireplace, are highlighted and maintained, and in the punchy accessories - bright flowers, paintings, fixtures, wallpaper - that are distributed throughout the apartment.
