Dreamy Home in London

Dreamy Home in London
This London townhouse featured on Remodelista totally took my breath away.  To say that I have been obsessed with looking at the pictures would be an understatement.  The focus on books in the home is so unapologetically prominent.  The modern aesthetic does not mean a sacrifice of warmth or comfort, as so many modern homes tend to do.  I can see myself living in this space, and it's no secret that my goal is to have a library in my future home one day.  Enjoy!

Nina Garcia in Architectural Digest

Nina Garcia in Architectural Digest
Project Runway judge, and fashion editor, Nina Garcia's Upper East Side apartment is featured in the October issue of Architectural Digest.  I love the fabric and colour combinations.  Nothing is too jarring - more soft and serene - and yet there is definite life to the colour.  Beautiful space.

Domino Best Rooms

Domino Best Rooms
Above is a photograph, from Habitually Chic, of the new special edition issue of Domino magazine.  I am so delighted that there is a new issue, but moreover I am excited that this one is really great.  I will admit that I was quite underwhelmed with the first Domino special edition.  After such a long wait, I was disappointed that the first new issue didn't really have the feel of the original magazine.  This Best Rooms issue, really improves upon that.  Best of all, this issue featres a look back at some of my favourite home tours - including Rashida Jones, Jenna Lyons, and Laura Vinroot Poole

Below are a few images from Domino's facebook page.  I will be shocked if I don't get the urge to get out all the old issues tonight.  It really was the best home decor magazine.

Alexis Stewart's Modern Apartment in MSL

Alexis Stewart's Modern Apartment in MSL
Alexis Stewart's minimalist apartment is featured in this months Martha Stewart Living Magazine.  I was taken aback by how soft and feminine these modern lines are.  If you look through the feature, there are also several pictures of her small children enjoying the living space and in their nursery.  All the photographs show a desirable home for play, relaxation, and entertaining.  It's pretty dreamy.  Check out all the photos here.

Vogue Wedding Guides
Despite the fact that I do not have a wedding on the horizon, I love looking at wedding guides.  Why?  Because there is fashion and decor in every guide and magazine.  You can look at flowers, stationary, jewelry, long dresses, short dresses, hairstyles, room decor, colour schemes, etc.  What's not to like?  Today I stumbled upon "One Fine Day" The Wedding Guide on Vogue.com and it was really fun to browse through.  Although, none of the styles were completely my taste, the photos are breathtaking.  There were 6 looks, but I didn't really care for the "rebel" look and therefore it is not included here.  Flip over to the slideshow on their website to see the rings, stationary, bridesmaid dresses, etc are for each style.  Which look is your favourite?

I have a beautiful new apartment that I moved into in May.  I am still working my magic and deciding what to add, take away, move around, etc.  I love looking in magazines, both online and in print, to get some inspiration.  I don't always want my place to have the exact same look as the last, even though I keep most of the same furniture.  Today, as the new Matchbook Magazine went live, Katie Armour posted photos, from the issue, on her blog The Neo-Traditionalist.  Katie has great style in my opinion because of the way she mixes things.  The combinations of colours, textures, lines, trends really makes her living space pop.  This apartment is sadly the one she has just left in California, as she moves to New York.  I'm sure her new apartment will be a different twist on her great taste.

Erin's Home on The Everygirl

Erin's Home on The Everygirl
The home of Erin Gates and her husband was recently featured on The Everygirl.  It was such a treat to see Erin's personal decor style.   I love her blog The Elements of Style and read it every day. My favourite thing in her house was the elephant table above.  Erin listed some of her sources yesterday, but alas the elephant was a vintage score.  Sigh, I was hoping that there was a bargain fairy on my shoulder and it was miraculously from the American equivalent of HomeSense or something.

Have you ever checked out Project Nest?  It's a great blog.  At the helm is a couple who have bought a San Francisco Victorian and are completing renovations.  Above is a photo of their home after they had it repainted.
