What Was She Wearing?
Who What Wear is a great website to go to for fashion inspiration, among other things.  Their feature "What Was She Wearing" is my favourite.  It's fun to see the sourcing for various looks that the celebs wear, whether high or low / red carpet or on a grocery store run.  The best part is that Who What Wear also lists alternatives at a lower price point.  Below are a few of my favourite looks posted in the WWSW feature.

Laid-Back Style

I hope you've had a wonderful holiday weekend. Canada Day weekend was spent at the cottage and we were lucky to have beautiful weather. I'm glad the 4th of July is similarly sunny and warm for those south of the border. Now that summer is in full swing I am craving casual clothes that are light and easy to move around in. The photo above shows true laid back style, while riding a bike in the summer sun, and comes from this post of A Cup of Jo.

Love Reese and her beach look - stripes + the red, white, and blue for this American holiday.

Madewell Wanderlust Shirtdress in Blue Check such a perfect casual summer look!

Copying Reese's Look!

Seeing Reese Witherspoon in this outfit (on People.com) I couldn't help but want to replicate the entire thing, with my own spin. Here's my version!

Delicate Detail Tank from Madewell.

Full Needle Cardigan from Banana Republic in Almond.

AG Adriano Goldschmied Stilt Cigarette Jeans via Shopbop.

I am beyond obsessed with these J. Crew sandals, Sevigne washed leather sandals in Sour Lemon. Even though they come in two different shades of brown, I want the yellow ones!!

Last but not least, a Maison Scotch Washed Leather Shopper through Shopbop.

Love Her Classic Style

I discovered the Pre-Fall 2011 Runway collection for Chloe on Vogue today and I fell in love. As per usual, the shapes are simple and streamlined, and the focus is classic. I think it's sublime.

Reese Witherspoon, as pictured on People today, looking cool-calm-collected-classic-chic. I suppose the LV bag doesn't hurt.

Elle's Street Chic feature caught this lovely lady in London today looking great in classic sportswear (pea coat, camel, plaid). Almost Michael Kors ish.

Smile it's Monday

Sometimes on Monday, it can be difficult to rally the troops of enthusiasm. I was thinking today how important it is not to always focus on TGIF, and how the mentality of "workin for the weekend" almost becomes ingrained in us. Here are a few web finds that made Monday more enjoyable.

This side table / dresser on Apartment Therapy is EXACTLY what I need. I am running out of storage space for clothes and this would do great double duty.

The new issue of Lonny is now online. Getting the email notification while heading home today certainly made me smile!

Smile it's Monday
I always find Reese Witherspoon's sense of style so refreshing and her wardrobe so enviable. The image on the far right caught my eye today on People.com - I just love the brown leather boots with the navy pea coat!

This silk Vivie top is in my Shopping Bag on the J. Crew website . . . if only I could justify making my shopping bag switch from virtual to real life.

Celeb Chic

I think of Jessica Alba as a great fashion beacon because she always looks comfortable. In day-to-day shots, she mixes high and low price points, almost always looks presentable and fresh, while never looking like she is trying too hard. It leads me to believe that she is interested in fashion and has a stylish eye, but she doesn't let it take over practicality. Awesome.

Reese Witherspoon mixes things so well - the cowboy boots could easily look silly if the rest of the outfit was too colourful or overly accessorized. By keeping the outfit basic - navy, white, gray - the boots are an unexpected, yet appropriate choice! Plus I love her cozy cardigan!

I love this nude jacket that Sarah Jessica Parker wore in East Hampton, NY this past Saturday. Softness in the colour and the ruffle but not too girly with the big utility pockets. Gorgeous.

Madewell

I just took the time to investigate what the Madewell label is offering. I hadn't heard much noise about it, since the online website was launched several weeks ago.

There are definitely some great things, and some beautiful classic pieces with a casual feel.
