Emerald It Is!

Emerald It Is!
Pantone has named it's color (colour for us Canadians) of the year - Emerald.  Above and below are some colour boards on the Pantone site that really show off the beauty of emerald.  I found a couple of clothes that echo the beauty of 2013's colour.

Cozy without Compromise

Cozy without Compromise
I wear a cardigan almost every day at work.  I also keep one in my desk because I am almost always a little bit cold.  I like to look polished and professional at work, so I'm always trying to be cozy without compromising on style.  Here are a few great cardigans and sweaters that I found today.

Work Wear for Wintery Months

I wear a cardigan to work almost every day, even if it is just thrown in my bag as an extra layer in case it's chilly. I love this cozy Textured Short-Sleeved Cardigan from Banana Republic. It looks cozy but not too slouchy for work.

This DVF Linda wrap dress is such a perfect combination of sophisticated and flirty. I think you could transition it from work day to date night by pairing it with a black cardigan.

I love the Cafe Capri in Wool from J. Crew so much that I would almost be tempted to try a bold colour like the tangerine above.

I would love to have this Greer Cardigan from Tory Burch in my work wardrobe. Hmmm maybe it will show up under my Christmas tree.....

New Shoes for Spring

Lately my main craving for spring, besides wearing my skirts and dresses without tights and leggings, is new shoes. Specifically I am ready for sweet and delicate flats for work and the weekend. Here are a few that I am loving today!

I am beginning to think about Christmas parties and various holiday festivities. I want to start playing dress up with sequins and sparkle, little black dresses and beautiful heels. This photo was on Tory Burch's blog and it made me want to seek out chic holiday dresses . . .

I've been preparing a course I'm teaching in the fall, and needed a little bit of a break. I drifted off into "Net-a-Porter-land" to gaze at beautiful new luxury fashions. These sweet little Tory Burch flats have officially been added to my Fall Fantasy shopping list. I like to think they could be a practical indulgence - something that I could wear to work, at a party, or pretty much anywhere. However, they shall remain on the fantasy shopping list for now.

Despite the fact that I usually invest in basic neutrals - black, deep heathered gray, khaki - I can't take my eyes off Tory Burch's Resort 2011 collection. She has a great little lookbook that you can access through her blog.

These are my picks!

Top Image: By far my favourite, prompted me to check out the lookbook.

The campaign isn't really making me want to go out and buy big boots that look like a cross between moon shoes and heavy winter Sorels . . . .but it does make me want to wear my hair in a simple bun with a severe center part!
