Elettra's Goodness

You've probably heard about Elettra's Goodness by now, housed on Vogue.com, but just in case you haven't I'll fill you in. Elettra Wiedemann is the fashion model daughter of Isabella Rossellini and, therefore, the granddaughter of Ingrid Bergman.  In her recent online series for Vogue, Elettra cooks with a few celeb acquaintances and has some fun along the way.  My three favourite episodes are with Blake Lively, Seth Meyers, and Karlie Kloss.  Below is the Blake Lively episode or you can watch all of them here!

Keira Knightley in Vogue
Keira Knightley graces the cover of Vogue this month, and she looks as beautiful and beguiling as ever.  She is a different beauty, and polarizing in the sense that people seem to think her stunning or awkward. I think that she is the former obviously, and these photos by Mario Testino certainly play up her gawky gorgeousness.

Lake Bell for Vogue

I was delighted today when I saw this Culture feature by Lauren Santo Domingo on Vogue.com.  With the focus being Lake Bell's home, I was surprised when I was even more taken with the beautiful photographs of the actress herself.  I have often commented how gorgeous she is when watching one of my favourite feel good movies It's Complicated.  Below are a few additional photos from the shoot, or see the entire slideshow here.

Soft and Sweet Fall 2012 at Jil Sander

Soft and Sweet Fall 2012 at Jil Sander
Jil Sander's Fall 2012 RTW Collection by Raf Simons is one that keeps catching my eye in magazines this month.  Every year there are a few pieces that get plenty of editorial space.  This year, many prints and patterns are getting due attention, but the two tone coat (above and below in different shades) in this collection trumps the aforementioned pattern play in my opinion.  The billowy sleeves and the generous volume of fabric in the body create a simple fashion cocoon.  I think that this coat is something that you could have in your closet forever, that you could wear whether 20 or 65.  There is something beautiful and timeless about a well cut coat.  Below, are several more pieces that stuck out for me in this collection.  I was especially drawn to the soft knits and pale colours that were chosen when, typically, designers come out with the deep plum, green, black, brown, and red shades in droves.  Do you like soft colours in the fall?

(You can catch my favourite piece - this Melton Double-Face BiColour Wool Coat - in the Fall 2012 Holt Renfrew Showroom magazine, on page 19.)

Vogue Wedding Guides
Despite the fact that I do not have a wedding on the horizon, I love looking at wedding guides.  Why?  Because there is fashion and decor in every guide and magazine.  You can look at flowers, stationary, jewelry, long dresses, short dresses, hairstyles, room decor, colour schemes, etc.  What's not to like?  Today I stumbled upon "One Fine Day" The Wedding Guide on Vogue.com and it was really fun to browse through.  Although, none of the styles were completely my taste, the photos are breathtaking.  There were 6 looks, but I didn't really care for the "rebel" look and therefore it is not included here.  Flip over to the slideshow on their website to see the rings, stationary, bridesmaid dresses, etc are for each style.  Which look is your favourite?

Minnie Mortimer's Dreamy Home

Oohhh a million thanks have to go out to Julie Richard and her beautiful blog Shelter, without her I would not have seen Minnie Mortimer's beautiful home. The photos are from Vogue but I don't remember ever seeing this house. I am always a sucker for a home with beautiful bookshelves and lots of interesting books filling them! Enjoy.

Amazing!

Three Things

There is a new Five Days, Five Looks, One Girl on the Vogue website. I really love this feature and think it's interesting to see how personal style can be succinct and yet still offer variety.

Stripes via Lucky Magazine looking so beach chic with the peach pants.

These tulips could be arranged in any manner and they still would be striking, due to their deep colour contrast. Discovered via Frolic!

Love Her Classic Style

I discovered the Pre-Fall 2011 Runway collection for Chloe on Vogue today and I fell in love. As per usual, the shapes are simple and streamlined, and the focus is classic. I think it's sublime.

Reese Witherspoon, as pictured on People today, looking cool-calm-collected-classic-chic. I suppose the LV bag doesn't hurt.

Elle's Street Chic feature caught this lovely lady in London today looking great in classic sportswear (pea coat, camel, plaid). Almost Michael Kors ish.
