Anne Hathaway's Valentino Gown

Anne Hathaway's Valentino Gown
I thought that Anne Hathaway's wedding gown was absolutely breathtaking.  I could not resist posting it here, despite the fact that the photos are not of great quality.  Many people have commented on her headpiece, but I think it's beautiful, and I like that she didn't wear a wig and just let the short hair be.  My favourite aspect of the gown is the bodice & neckline.  I love the simple tulle overlay that goes across the bust and caps the shoulders.  Simply lovely.

Vogue Wedding Guides
Despite the fact that I do not have a wedding on the horizon, I love looking at wedding guides.  Why?  Because there is fashion and decor in every guide and magazine.  You can look at flowers, stationary, jewelry, long dresses, short dresses, hairstyles, room decor, colour schemes, etc.  What's not to like?  Today I stumbled upon "One Fine Day" The Wedding Guide on Vogue.com and it was really fun to browse through.  Although, none of the styles were completely my taste, the photos are breathtaking.  There were 6 looks, but I didn't really care for the "rebel" look and therefore it is not included here.  Flip over to the slideshow on their website to see the rings, stationary, bridesmaid dresses, etc are for each style.  Which look is your favourite?

Rays of Sunshine in my Sick Week

I was sick with a brutal cold last week. Here are a few things on the web that entertained me in my misery!

This gorgeous wedding in Italy (gasp that Valentino dress) posted on A Cup of Jo.

Erin's blog . . .fashion, decor, honest freak outs, red carpet reviews, and so so much more. I love clicking and reading every single day.

A terrific issue of Matchbook Magazine with Jessie Randall of Loeffler Randall.

The Matchbook Magazine blog The Daily Spark is oh so delightful!

Fashion Highlights

The Royal Visit in Canada has generated a lot of excitement. On my part, the interest came only as it was happening, when I realized how lovely, friendly, at ease, and personable the Duke and Duchess are. I enjoy seeing real smiles and laughter as opposed to forced photo ops and speeches. In addition to that, the fashion has been truly exciting. Kate absolutely knows how to dress - looking elegant but in her own way, for her figure and personality. I loved the three outfits above. In the last picture she is wearing a Smythe blazer.

Another fashion highlight this weekend came from Kate Moss. She is always someone to look to for fashion tips, and her recent wedding was no exception. The veteran model looks lovely and I can't take my eyes off the flower girls who look so sweet!

Last but not least! Blair's outfit = perfection in my eyes.

Pretty Wedding Things

These bridesmaid's dresses are so pretty. I love the peach colour for a summer wedding! The maid of honour has a belt around her dress which echos the bride's dress. The bouquets are gorgeous with an assortment of fresh pink flowers. The entire wedding is quite dreamy - originally stumbled upon via The Neo-Traditionalist and followed the link to Style Me Pretty.

Friday Fashion Fix

Vogue's website is fantastic, with loads of new things each and every day. I love their feature Five Days, Five Looks, One Girl. This week they showcased the wardrobe of Vogue's Director of Special Events, Sylvanna Ward Durrett. I would like to borrow everything she owns!

This beautiful Lanvin wedding gown caught my eye as I was cruising around Net-a-Porter this week. I don't know if it's what I would choose for my wedding day, but the workmanship and detailing is exquisite.

The sweater, the layering, the bag, the choice of accessories, Jessica Alba always seems to look so comfortable in her clothes. You can tell that she isn't trying too hard, she just puts great things together that still allow her to move about her regular day. I love her hair in this picture. Inspiration for my next trim!

This Marc by Marc Jacobs bag (the Classic Q Francesca) is totally on my wishlist. I love that it is big and tote-like but that you can also swing it as a cross body bag. Functionality and fashion = fabulous.

These two starlets both got nabbed for "Hit or Miss" fashion lists when they wore these outfits to a premiere this week, but I think they look absolutely adorable. More than anything I think they're both darn good at their day jobs and you don't see them riding the "celeb/tabloid train" too often. Plus, Carey Mulligan's expression in this picture made me smile.

Coco's Dreamy Wedding

The lovely Coco Rocha has offered her fans a delightful treat - a fantasy ride that is a video of her wedding! This is nothing short of a fairy tale! It's really, really worth watching the entire thing - the vows and speeches are so beautiful.
