"These are great questions and I love the stories behind the research! I consider my lucky to be Rochelle's critique partner and able to read the Bruja Brouhaha manuscript before she submitted it to Berkley. Cant wait to get my hands back on on the book August 7th and sink back into Liz and Nick's adventures!

"Thank you, Anne! I credit my creative title ability to a past career in radio and advertising. Short phrases? No problem. Titles are like writing a headline for an ad. Blurb a story in four lines? No problem, it's like writing a fifteen-second commercial. It's the following eighty-thousand words (in a novel) that slow me down :)"

All right, you have 30 seconds to pitch your book to a potential reader. What would you say to convince him or her to read Bruja Brouhaha?

    Ready... Set... Go!"

"Leave it to VR, my trusty critique partner, to put me on the 30-second spot! You got it—start the timer:

In BRUJA BROUHAHA, a mid-city clinic assignment near historic MacArthur Park puts psychologist Liz Cooper in the midst of local mayhem, a puzzling disappearance, and a vindictive Santeria hex. Liz and her new love, Religious Philosophy Professor Nick Garfield, help an elderly Santera priestess through a heart-breaking tragedy with repercussions that test their relationship and Liz’s professional ethics.

I hope that works to heat up interest. I love this story!
Thanks for coming by and challenging me, VR."

Rochelle, your 30 second pitch worked. Between that, this interview, meeting you in person at RWA... Way to move yourself onto the auto-buy list, lady! ;)

And speaking of gum, funny thing is, right now I'm chewing a piece of Dubble Bubble that someone at work gave me. And I realize why I don't chew this type of gum usually... 3 minutes & the flavor is gone. Bubblemint lasts much better."
