The Magic Order 2 Coming in October 2021

The Magic Order 2 Coming in October 2021
A TURF WAR AMONG WIZARDS BREAKS OUT IN THE MAGIC ORDER SEQUEL

PORTLAND, Ore. 07/14/2021 — Bestselling writer and producer Mark Millar (Jupiter's Legacy, Kingsman: The Magic Order 2 Coming in October 2021The Secret Service) returns to the magical world he created as a live-action Netflix series to release the second volume in the comic book adaptation. Olivier Coipel (Amazing Spider-Man, Thor) was drafted in to draw the first volume in this five book set and delivered one of the best jobs of his career. Now legendary artist Stuart Immonen (Empress, Star Wars, New Avengers) is in the chair for the much-anticipated sequel. The Magic Order 2 #1 will launch this October from Image Comics.

"We've been working hard on The Magic Order show and comics for some time, picking all the right partners and trying to do the best job we can," said Millar. "A bucket-list has been ticked working with Olivier Coipel, a guy I've admired since we were both in our twenties, and now Stuart Immonen joins me for the sequel volume. Stuart's kind of the artist's artist's artist. Everyone I know is obsessed with him. So this is above and beyond an honour."

In this new story arc, a magical turf war like you've never seen before! The London chapter of the Magic Order has entered the scene, and these tough Guy Ritchie-style gangsters have a problem with the Eastern European Warlocks moving into their territory. Can new leader Cordelia Moonstone keep the peace?

Space Bandits Coming In July

Space Bandits Coming In July
MARK MILLAR & IMAGE/NETFLIX ANNOUNCE SPACE BANDITS & SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION COVERS ILLUSTRATED BY ARTIST LEGENDS

First Limited Legends Cover Illustrated by Howard Chaykin
to Retail for Just 75 Cents, the Price of a Comic-Book When Millar Was a Teen

PORTLAND, OR 04/16/2019 — Today, Netflix and Mark Millar announce their latest project created in-house, SPACE BANDITS #1 Cover ASpace Bandits—a female led sci-fi story, described by Millar as a female Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid set in space with a massive and exciting cast of characters.

Superstar Artist Matteo Scalera will illustrate the comic-book translation of this original Netflix property, published by Image Comics.

In Space Bandits, Thena Khole and Cody Blue are among the universe’s most wanted felons. Each the leader of their own criminal operations, they run heists across the galaxies—hopping from ship to ship to fleece everyone inside. But when both women are betrayed by their treacherous crews, the bandits only have one thing on their minds: REVENGE.

"I love writing female-led stories in everything from Reborn to Empress to Hit-Girl to Jupiter's Legacy and, of course, our recent Magic Order at Netflix," said Millar. "I also love writing big, fun sci-fi things. In a world with a billion superhero properties and gloomy, rain-soaked dystopian sci-fi, there's a gap in the market for sci-fi that's upbeat and fun and I wanted to combine all this into a big, high-octane story. I've been working on this as a property for Netflix since last Summer and now I'm being joined by the brilliant Matteo Scalera for the comic-book translation of this story. The guy's a genius and I've followed him for years. Having him draw this is like someone you've always had a crush on going out on a date with you. He's just amazing."

As a special bonus, and available to order at the same time, is a limited edition series of Space Bandits Legends Covers, featuring Miller’s all-time favorite comic-book artists—artists Miller was obsessed with in high school, and whom he has wanted to work with for years.

The first of these five very limited edition covers will be illustrated by comic-book legend Howard Chaykin, and will retail for the same price as a comic-book cost when Mark was in high school… just 75 cents. All other covers will retail at the regular $3.99 price.

Space Bandits #1 will be available in stores on Wednesday, July 3. The final order cutoff deadline is June 10.

Space Bandits #1 also will be available for purchase across many digital platforms, including the official Image Comics iOS app, Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.

MILLAR REVEALS ANOTHER HIT SERIES UP HIS SLEEVE IN THE MAGIC ORDER

PORTLAND, OR, 06/19/2018 — Comics titan Mark Millar and Olivier Coipel (Amazing Spider-Man, Thor) launched Netflix’s THE MAGIC ORDER #1 last week to overwhelming critical acclaim and fan enthusiasm and, as reported upon by Deadline.com, broke industry records with some of the highest pre-order numbers in two decades.

"An important note to retailers: There will be no second printing on The Magic Order #2. Just like #1, we want to create a huge excitement on the day so that people who get their copy feel extra lucky,” said Millar. “What you order this weekend is what you get, but, as always, there is no risk to retailers, as this comic is returnable."

We live in a world where we’ve never seen a monster, and The Magic Order is the reason we sleep safely in our beds. Magic meets the mob in THE MAGIC ORDER, as five families of magicians—sworn to protect our world for generations—must battle an enemy who’s picking them off one by one. By day, they live among us as our neighbors, friends, and co-workers, but by night, they are the sorcerers, magicians, and wizards that protect us from the forces of darkness… unless the darkness gets them first.

THE MAGIC ORDER #1 will remain available for purchase across all digital platforms, including the Image Comics website (imagecomics.com), the official Image Comics iOS app, Comixology’s website (comixology.com), iOS, Android, and Google Play.

THE MAGIC ORDER #2 Cover A by Coipel (Diamond Code MAY180197), THE MAGIC ORDER #2 Cover B by Coipel (Diamond Code MAY180198), THE MAGIC ORDER #2 Cover C by Grampá (Diamond Code MAY188623) will be available on Wednesday, July 18th. New Creative Team and Story Arc for Kick-Ass

New Creative Team and Story Arc for Kick-Ass
KICK-ASS INTRODUCES NEW CREATIVE TEAM AND LAUNCHES NEW STORY ARC

PORTLAND, OR, 06/05/2018 — Image Comics is pleased to announce that KICK-ASS #7 will launch an exciting new story arc for the series and introduce an all-new creative team to the KICK-ASS brand—Steve Niles and Marcelo Frusin—who will succeed original series creators Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.

“When we sold Millarworld to Netflix, the one and only downside was not being able to write more Kick-Ass with my new executive role, and so I did the next best thing—I got my favourite writer to continue Patience Lee’s adventures,” said Millar. “Steve Niles is without question my favourite writer in comics, and I rank 30 Days of Night as my favourite graphic novel of the last 20 years. I’m honoured he’s taken the time to do this and slightly in awe that, like Jeff Lemire on Hit-Girl, he’s already outclassed me on this book. I finally get to enjoy Kick-Ass as a reader!”

Romita Jr. added: “I’m lucky enough to work with Mark again, but even luckier to have worked on Kick-Ass again, as well. Every time someone worries that the same old, same old is in line for another go ’round with a title, Mark Millar completely crosses people up with something completely different.
My attempt on every new panel, page, and story is to do something different. I think Peter Steigerwald and I have managed to do that, and Peter's brilliant color art is so vital to that difference. Overall, the three of us have provided something unexpected, and in all humility, excellent! I’m proud to have worked with Mark, Peter, John Workman and editor Rachael Fulton on this Kick-Ass title and so thrilled to hand the reins over to Steve Niles and Marcelo Frusin. I’m confident these two great talents will grab a hold and run with Kick-Ass seamlessly.
I can only speak for myself, but I will severely miss this lady in the Kick-Ass costume. Pretty sure Mark and Peter agree.”

In KICK-ASS #7—Kick-Ass has wiped out Hoops Lucero and seized control of his criminal operations, but Violencia’s set to bust out of jail and get his bloody revenge on our favorite superhero.

"I am really happy to continue the superb work of Mark and John on Kick-Ass," said Frusin. "The new character is gorgeous and I enjoy working on the book every day. I like drawing the world of Kick-Ass and its villains—Steve's scripts are wonderful and the color work Sunny is doing is amazing. It's great to have a team like this. I love doing Kick-Ass!"

Niles added: "I am absolutely having the time of my life working on Kick-Ass. It’s a thrill to be continuing the work set out by Mark and John and wonderful to be working with Marcelo and Sunny."

KICK-ASS #7 hits stores on Wednesday, September 19th.

No Second Printings for The Magic Order #1

MILLAR REVEALS HIGHLY ANTICIPATED THE MAGIC ORDER #1 WILL HAVE NO SECOND PRINTINGS

PORTLAND, OR, 05/18/2018 — In a letter to select comics retailers yesterday Mark Millar revealed that the #1 launch issue of his first title with NETFLIX—the hotly anticipated THE MAGIC ORDER with art by Olivier Coipel which was first announced at Image Expo—will not go to a second printing.

“FOC for #1 is this coming Monday and we hope you're suitably prepared. We want to get back to that crazy, exciting time where a first printing really meant something too and create a real collectibility here with NO SECOND PRINTINGS," said Millar. "We love the idea of making this genuinely sought after. So after inventory on the first and only print run is depleted, there will be no additional printings. That said, we’re very, very sure this is going to sell out, especially after you see the book and once you see the multimedia promotion that’s coming over the next three weeks.”

We live in a world where we’ve never seen a monster, and The Magic Order is the reason we sleep safely in our beds.
