ADVENTUREMAN Coming this April

ADVENTUREMAN Coming this April
MATT FRACTION AND TERRY DODSON LAUNCH GENRE-BLENDING, PULSE-POUNDING NEW SERIES ADVENTUREMAN THIS APRIL

Preview pages from the upcoming series revealed

PORTLAND, Ore. 02/19/2020 — New York Times bestselling, Eisner Award winning writer Matt Fraction (Sex Criminals, Hawkeye), ADVENTUREMAN Coming this Aprilartist Terry Dodson (X-Men/Fantastic Four), and Rachel Dodson (X-Men/Fantastic Four) team up for an all-new, ongoing adventure series—Adventureman—from Image Comics this April beginning with a massively extra length and wildly affordable first issue.

"Terry and Rachel and I have been working together a long time on Adventureman and I'm thrilled our giant baby is finally ready for the world. It's a high-flying, senses-obliterating, earth-shaking, imagination-quaking, adventure and we can't wait to share it with everyone," said Fraction.

The story of beloved pulp hero "Adventureman" ended with a never-resolved cliff-hanger for his legion of fans as their hero faced execution at the vile hand of his ultra-nemesis "Baron Bizarre." And now, eighty years later, single mother Claire and her Adventurefan son Tommy seem to be the only two people alive that remember the thrilling Adventureman sagas… but from that memory burns the spark of... resurrection. What if it was all true? What if it all really happened? And what if it was happening again? Where his story ended... her story begins!

Dodson added: "Creating Adventureman has been a heck of a journey! It’s been an amazing opportunity to develop new worlds of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Worlds inhabited by enduring and believable characters, making a family. This project allows me to tick off numerous 'wants' on my creative list! I hope everyone enjoys the ride as much as we did making it.”

Blending high-octane pulp action, low-flying dirigibles and more art-deco rayguns than you could shake a walking stick at, Adventureman kicks off with a 64 page issue filled to the brim with action and intrigue for the introductory cover price of $3.99.

Adventureman #1 (Diamond Code FEB200011) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, April 29.

Adventureman #1 will also be available for purchase across many digital platforms, including the official Image Comics iOS app, Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.

“A comic with a clear message, it never feels overtly moralizing, but simply an education as stark and brutal as the rad-as-hell monster-fighting horror that plays out in as the family goes about its work.” —io9

"Puts a monstrous face on bigotry and a beautiful new spin on the Harlem Renaissance." —The Onion's AV Club

"Confident in itself and doesn't need to rely on overwrought high-concept themes. Bitter Root isn't afraid to tackle weighty issues while still having some fun, giving us some new heroes that are much needed in today's world." —ComicBook.com

NORROWAY Book Two Coming in August 2020

NORROWAY Book Two Coming in August 2020
BOOK TWO OF EISNER AWARD-NOMINATED, YOUNG ADULT GRAPHIC NOVEL SERIES NORROWAYTHE QUEEN ON THE HIGH MOUNTAIN—WILL HIT SHELVES FROM IMAGE COMICS THIS AUGUST

The critically acclaimed Scottish fairytale retelling from Kit & Cat Seaton is the perfect read for fans of The Prince & the Dressmaker

PORTLAND, Ore. 01/13/2020 — Bestselling creative team of writer Cat Seaton and artist Kit Seaton (Wonder Woman: Warbringer, NORROWAY Book Two Coming in August 2020Afar) return to the Eisner Award-nominated, critically acclaimed, graphic novel trilogy Norroway with Book Two: The Queen on the High Mountain.

This second book in the lauded series continues the Scottish fairytale retelling with charm and whimsy and is perfect for fans of Jen Wang’s The Prince and The Dressmaker. It hits shelves from Image Comics this August 2020.

"I’m really thrilled to showcase an older, wizened, more grizzled Sibylla," said Kit Seaton. "Plus there’s a new cast of characters who will add depth, as well as twists and turns to the narrative. We’ve really taken the story to new heights (pun intended) and can’t wait to show readers this widened view of the world of Norroway."

Seven years have passed since the disastrous events of Norroway, Book One, and now it's time for Sibylla to face her curse-breaking destiny. When Troll Kingdom soldiers arrive in the once-safe town of Fiskeby, she's forced to flee up the Glass Mountain. But the moment she steps foot on Troll lands, she's thrown into a jail cell, where she discovers her amnesiac ex-fiancé is set to wed the Troll Queen’s daughter. Using all of her wits, she must convince the princess to turn against her own mother, or else face execution on the day of the wedding—and doom the kingdom to remain cursed forever.

Cat Seaton added: "In this book we really start to break free of the mold of the original fairy tale—most of the set up has happened, and now we’re seeing the payoff, and the consequences. Canonically, it’s seven years between the lead character’s fall down the mountain and her climb back up. In the original fairy tale you have a girl who waited. With Sibylla, she stopped waiting. She moved on. And then her past came knocking."

Norroway, Book Two: The Queen on the High Mountain (ISBN: 978-1-5343-1607-2) will be available on Wednesday, August 26 and in bookstores on Tuesday, September 1. It can be pre-ordered at your local comic book shop or on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, IndieBound, and Indigo.

“Panels are beautifully illustrated with rich, sweeping details and magical elements… A gripping cliff-hanger will have readers excited to pick up the next volume.” —School Library Journal

PORTLAND, Ore. 12/12/2019 — The New York Times bestselling, Eisner Award winning comics titan Fire Power Coming in May 2020 From Robert Kirkman and Chris Samnee - PreviewRobert Kirkman (Oblivion Song, The Walking Dead) is teaming with Eisner winning artist Chris Samnee (Daredevil), Eisner Award winning colorist Matt Wilson (Paper Girls, The Wicked + The Divine), and letterer Rus Wooton (The Walking Dead), to bring fans an all-new, full color, action-packed ongoing series—Fire Power—which will launch from Image/Skybound in May 2020.

“Getting to create a whole new world with its own mythology and rules is always the highlight of my life. Getting to do that with Chris Samnee is definitely a high water mark in this dusty old career of mine,” said Kirkman. “With a massive cast of characters populating this sprawling globe-spanning epic Chris has proven more than adept at handling anything I've thrown at him in the time we've been toiling away on this series in secret. Kung Fu, Fireballs, Chris Samnee, crazy action, Chris Samnee, Chris Samnee. What more could I say to get you excited about this book?”

This is the first new project from Kirkman since the surprise conclusion to his pop culture phenomenon The Walking Dead. Fire Power will more than fill a walker-sized hole in your monthly pull list. This new series also marks Samnee's return to comics after wrapping up his bestselling run on Captain America that concluded in early 2018.

Owen Johnson's journey to China to learn about his birth parents eventually leads him to a mysterious Shaolin Temple. The students there study to rediscover the Fire Power, the lost art of throwing fireballs. A power they claim will be needed soon to save the world. Will Owen Johnson be the first person in a thousand years to wield the Fire Power?
