rissatoo who said:

Fab interview! (And great review, too!) I really can hardly wait to read The Rook.

Now, as far as the question, my first inclination is to say something wild, like I'd be a handler - someone who interacts and directs with the 'agents'.. But if I'm honest, I'd probably be in some very mundane section, like accounting - and very likely a very small cog in the machine. :p

At the end of the series you really don't know where they stand...it seems to me like they are just friends, but I'd like to think that maybe they have a happier romantic ending. Immortal Hope (The Curse of the Templars 1) by Claire Ashgrove - Ended February 4, 2012 - Read the interview here.

Winners x 14 - February 5, 2012

Question:  Which historical person(s) would you like to have dinner with?

Leah Weller who said:

Claire, the book sounds right up my alley! History is a passion of mine also. I added this to the list of books to look for that seems to be rapidly growing, but I added a check beside it being as I felt drawn to it. I love finding new to me authors :)

If I could have dinner with someone from the past, who would it be? That's a hard question for me and I couldn't narrow it down to just one so I'm adding two. William the Conqueror and King Henry the ll. Gotta love those Plantagenents! I would have many questions for both but the most important one would be to ask what was the one thing that happened in their life that was THE defining moment that made them who they were.

Wow, that's a hard question since most of the well known ones have already been done. I'm a big fan of all things middle eastern and love the history that surrounds the area so maybe one of the lesser royal families there.

Just as an aside, I too am fascinated with the story of the Russian royal family. I visited an exibit of their jewels in Memphis once and stood there in the middle of the museum bawling like a baby.

Question:  Do you have any favorite covers or ones that didn’t work for you and why?

Sara M who said...
I will admit, covers are a big part of my reading experience. The reviews I write on my blog are split into four categories: plot, pace, characters, and cover. Because these are the make or break factors of a book for me.

The one book that I've picked up solely for the cover: Wither by Lauren DeStefano (which I ended up really enjoying even though it's outside of my genre preferences).

And some of my favorite covers are ones that include a lot of relevant details to the plot: Spider's Bite by Jennifer Estep and Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler.

Question:  Which cover do you like better and why? How important are covers to you in making you consider and/or buy a book?

North of Need (e-book)

Denise Z who said...

I have a definite preference for the North of Need cover. It is lovely and mysterious. I want to hold it and look closer at what is not clear and try to figure out what it means. The other cover is lovely, but if I was in a bookstore I would definitely pick up North of Need to see what it was about:) Thank you for taking the time to share with us today and for the awesome giveaway opportunity.

North of Need Trading Cards

donnas who said...

I really think both covers are awesome and Im not sure I can pick one between the two. As for importance in buying a book. The cover might make me pick it up and look at it, but unless it sounds good too I wont buy it based on cover alone.

The answer to the question is easy: the humpback whale. I have always been intrigued by this mammouth of the sea. It's just so amazing when you see one breach - that it can get itself out of the water like that is nature at its best.
I have yet to be in the right place at the right time to go whale watching, but one day I'll get to see one in person. Swell looks really interesting and different - I love different!
