monochromatic post card swap

Karen has another great swap coming up on Mail Me Some Art - monochromatic post cards.   These are the ones I made and sent already.

I used Distress Stain, masking tape, watercolors, rubber stamps, embossing powder and gel sticks on watercolor paper that was the perfect size - 4" x 6".

ICADs #48-50

These were started on the 18th and finished tonight - they're the "I was too busy doing other things to concentrate on my ICADs" series.

All done with Distress Stain, stamps, stamp pads (my favorite stamp/ink pads are Palette), and markers.

I thought I had to have the other three done tonight, but I have one more day to tweak the next three.  I'm still enjoying doing series, and working on ICADs every day (well mostly every day - this past week I was way too busy to work on them every single day - gosh I feel guilty even admitting that) but for the most part I have finished my series in three days.  This series I didn't - they were done in five days.  Ooops.

Mail Me Some Art ATC swap

Check out Karen's very cool and fun swap blog - Mail Me Some Art.  This is the first swap I'm doing with Karen over at her blog and I'm super excited about it.

These are the two ATCs I made - one for the swap and one for Karen.

I used masking fluid, Distress Stain, neocolors and markers.

I'm really loving Distress Stain - though it's kind of pricey so I've got to put my thinking cap on and figure out how to make some myself.

Now go click Karen's link and join in a swap!!

Also here's a photograph of my ATC binder.  I started swapping ATCs in 2004 (I think!) and swapped them pretty consistently until about 2007 or so.    Glad to be doing them again!

ICADs #45-47 and laundry day

This series in the masking tape series!  All use the following: masking tape, Distress Stain, watercolors, neocolors, and markers.

ICADs #45-47 and laundry day

It's another very warm day out, and I have laundry out on the line.  I think what's on there is dry now, and need to get off the computer and tend to it. And do more laundry!  Time for an iced tea and lemonade.  (PS:  Note that #46 is an ode to my pennant strings, which always remind me of laundry on the line!)

ICADS #36 - 38

I enjoy doing series.  I have also decided that I'm not going to worry about doing an ICAD every single day BUT that I will work on ICADs every single day.

For instance, I started these on June 6th and finished them tonight. (I know, I'm behind one ICAD now!).  But it works for me, esp. since if I'm NOT patient (i.e., letting things dry properly), I get frustrated and sloppy/ier. And I'm impatient a lot.

So happy that the air is cooler these past two days, and I was able to get into the yard and do some work without dying of heat.  I was also able to make some dill pickles!

wedding card

My eldest brother is getting married tomorrow - here is the card I made for him and his new wife-to-be:

I used two colors of Distress Stain, then with that one stamp I stamped with white ink (which you can barely tell but if you look at the close-up below you can kind of see it) and embossing ink and then embossed with white embossing powder.  I think it look quite pretty.

I purchased three decorative stamps at Pat Catans today for FIFTY CENTS each!  Huzzah!
