The New Limited Edition Mr. Jones King & Queen Mechanical Automatic Jump Hour Mystery Watches - Only 100 Made - Made In London

KINGQUEENEMAIL

It's In The Cards

The King & Queen Jump Hour Automatic

This watch is based on the classic playing card characters of the King and Queen of Hearts. The watches feature hands of cards to depict the minutes while the hours literally jump into position in the Royal Breast.
The use of the playing cards symbolizes the transitory nature of fortune - lucky streaks, while always welcome, are only as short lived as those runs of bad luck. The watch is a gentle reminder to keep your cards close to your chest, but to be bold and go all-in when fate has dealt you a winning hand!

The minutes are depicted as hand of cards, for the sake of clarity only 10 minute intervals are marked:
There is a grey card-footprint on the dial to allow you to judge the minutes between the markers. You can see how far the leading or trailing edge of the cards is from the footprint shape to read the minutes:

Mechanical Movement
This watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement. The watch is wound either by turning the winding crown on the left hand side of the case, or (more simply) by the everyday motion of your wrist. A weight on the mechanism rotates in response to normal movement and transfers this energy to winding up the mainpspring (if you hold the watch in your hand and gently rock it back and forth you can feel this weight moving).

Thomas Prescher's Mysterious Automatic Double Axis Tourbillon

Thomas Prescher's Mysterious Automatic Double Axis Tourbillon
I'm looking forward to seeing this in person at Baselworld in a few weeks!

"Thomas had a problem:
How to make the visibility of the tourbillon even better than his present watches.
The solution:
Just tuck everything except the tourbillon out of the way."

-Watchprosite

Thomas Prescher's Mysterious Automatic Double Axis Tourbillon

"A vision. That is normally the beginning of a time sculpture manufactured by Thomas Prescher. Guided by the idea to improve the perfect visibility of the central elements of his multi Axis Tourbillon Thomas Prescher composed a new breathtaking piece of art.

Only time, Tourbillon, calendar and oscillating weight are visible. The movement is completely hidden.

Place to hide the movement was found left and right in the case, hidden by the bezel. Because the space is very limited the parts of the movement had to be located on both sides.
Thomas Prescher's Mysterious Automatic Double Axis Tourbillon
Later, resting in a hammock the idea was born to create an automatic movement with horizontal swinging oscillating weight. To crown this exceptional piece of art, it was a logical decision to choose something special for the heart of this watch. The escapement with its beating balance has to be a flying Double Axis Tourbillon with constant force.
The idea to add a calendar to this creation came while observing some people entering a giant swing. They could move on the surface of the swing. Why not create an oscillating weight with integrated calendar indications and let the gravity take the calendar on the oscillating weight remains always horizontal.

Thomas Prescher's Mysterious Automatic Double Axis Tourbillon
This mysterious watch with its transparency led automatically to the wish to wear it from sides, front and back. With the calendar located on the flat side of the oscillating weight this indication is always facing upward. It can be read regardless of which side of the watch is up.
Thomas Prescher's Mysterious Automatic Double Axis TourbillonRespecting the aspects of harmony was an important point. Two crowns were used to keep the beauty of symmetry with. One crown is used for winding and the other for setting time and calendar. Both crowns build the main symmetry axis. Now it was necessary to build the optical balance between the oscillating weight on one side and the indication of time on the other side. For that reason a three dimensional moon was placed between the two barrels, indicating the hours and minutes.

Thomas Prescher's Mysterious Automatic Double Axis TourbillonFinally, placed on a turning axis, held by a carrying arm the carriage is rotating around itself. These two synchronized motions create a gyro scoping image immediately taking full attention.
A mesmerizing kinetic sculpture is born."

VINTAGE WATCHING - An Unusual Vintage Planetary Display Watch by Juvenia

VINTAGE WATCHING - An Unusual Vintage Planetary Display Watch by JuveniaI dare you to find another model like this. In all my years of collecting, I have not seen another three-disc watch quite like this vintage 1960s Juvenia. Each circle is offset from each other so each one representing seconds, minutes, and hours (small-to-large) rotate in an off-kilter formation. Each is attached at the far end of their marker lines creating an oblong rotation similar to planets with a variety of orbits. What is even more surprising is how small this watch is, only 20mm wide. A very cool and strange ladies timpiece!

Denis Guidone Concept Timepieces - Ora Unica Scribble Watch Ora il Legale Daylight Savings Tilt clock & Other Prototype Designs"Denis Guidone was just selected as the winner of the international design competition Adamo Eva. His whimsical scribble watch design called “Ora Unica”, meaning One Hour, is a wonderful contrast of chaos and order mixed together. In their words, “The hour and minute hands are represented by a single line drawn on two circular faces, which turn one inside the other. Both faces together resemble a graphical gesture, a doodle that changes as time passes.”

How Much Time Do You Have Left? - New Special Edition Black PVD Coated Accurate and Decider Watches by Mr. Jones

How Much Time Do You Have Left? - New Special Edition Black PVD Coated Accurate and Decider Watches by Mr. Jones
How Much Time Do You Have Left? - New Special Edition Black PVD Coated Accurate and Decider Watches by Mr. JonesMr Jones Watches have produced two new special edition watches. Both models
feature black PVD coating which gives a hard-wearing, elegant finish.

These are serious watches for the serious times we find ourselves in. The black coating on the watch case is matched on the buckle and completed with a black leather strap and (what else!) black stitching.

Mr Jones Watches is the new cult watch brand from London. They believe that a watch should do more than just tell the time.

All the Mr Jones Watches are designed by Crispin Jones, they are genuine indie products entirely conceived and executed following a singular vision.

These models will be available for a limited period only.

How Much Time Do You Have Left? - New Special Edition Black PVD Coated Accurate and Decider Watches by Mr. Jones

This is a special edition of the most accurate wristwatch you can buy - the hour hand reads "remember", the minute hand "you will die".

The dial and rim of the glass are mirrored, so the wearer is reflected in the watch face. The Accurate is a link to the tradition of the memento mori - an object designed to remind us that life is brief and that we should seize the moment while we are here.

The Accurate is our best selling model and we're very pleased with how well this special edition looks on the wrist.

The New Decider helps you make decisions. As the seconds tick round the words “yes” and “no” are alternately displayed.

When you need to make a decision, simply glance at the watch for your answer. A magnifying dome sits just above the answer window to aid visibility.

The New Decider may not always give the right decision, but as Tony Soprano observes,“a wrong decision is better than indecision”.

Other recently released Mr. Jones Watches featured below;

How Much Time Do You Have Left? - New Special Edition Black PVD Coated Accurate and Decider Watches by Mr. JonesMR. JONES - THE AVERAGE DAY

This watch eschews the conventional division of a day into 24 hours, instead it divides into units of median daily routine.

The dial shows a breakdown of what average people do on an average day, so you’re able to see what you yourself should - on average - be doing at any time.

How Much Time Do You Have Left? - New Special Edition Black PVD Coated Accurate and Decider Watches by Mr. JonesMr. Jones The Mantra

The Mantra alternates a very positive statement (e.g. "you are amazing") with a very negative one (e.g. "nobody likes you"). Every hour the watch displays one positive message and one negative message (the wedge that you read the statement through is also the hour hand).

Over time The Mantra makes the arrogant person more humble and makes the humble more confident.

How Much Time Do You Have Left? - New Special Edition Black PVD Coated Accurate and Decider Watches by Mr. JonesMr. Jones Original "The Decider"

The Decider is a watch that helps you make decisions: as the seconds tick round you see either the word "YES" or "NO" displayed on the watch face; when you need to make a decision you simply look at your watch for your answer.

How Much Time Do You Have Left? - New Special Edition Black PVD Coated Accurate and Decider Watches by Mr. JonesMR. JONES THE FUTURE

The Future is now! This watch displays a carpe diem message along with the time. The hour and minute hand make up the words “the future”, whilst the face alternately displays “is” and “now”. This watch is a handy reminder to the wearer to live in the present.

How Much Time Do You Have Left? - New Special Edition Black PVD Coated Accurate and Decider Watches by Mr. Jones MR. JONES THE WATCHER

Two characters on the watch enact a tiny choreographed play. They look all around, but never rest on the other’s gaze. The faces keep their tiny vigil on your wrist and are always ready to share a moment of micro-poetry whenever you look at your watch.

The two faces each have a small magnifying dome over them to aid visibility.

How Much Time Do You Have Left? - New Special Edition Black PVD Coated Accurate and Decider Watches by Mr. JonesMr. Jones LOVES ME

The design of this watch is inspired by the game of effeuiller la marguerite in which “loves me, loves me not” is spoken while plucking the petals of a flower.

Loves Me acts as a never-ending, animated flower that answers love dilemmas: pulling up the winding crown stops the mechanism and reveals cupid’s verdict.

How Much Time Do You Have Left? - New Special Edition Black PVD Coated Accurate and Decider Watches by Mr. Jones
MR. JONES MORE OR LESS

This watch offers you two ways of looking at the passing of time - around the circumference of the dial the words "one more, one less" slowly revolve. This presents a balanced way of viewing the passing of time in our lives.

The Most Accurate Watch in the World

The Accurate, a watch that fosters humility in the wearer by featuring a mirrored dial to reflect the viewer together with a semi-subtle Memento Mori reminder of your inevitable mortal timeframe. The hour and minute discs spell out "Remember" and "You Will Die".

The dial and rim of the glass on the Accurate is mirrored, so that the wearer is reflected in the watch face (so that there is no ambiguity about who the message is aimed at). The Accurate is a link to the venerable tradition of the Memento Mori - an object designed to remind us that life is brief and that we should seize the moment while we are here.

A statement from artist/designer Crispin Jones about the design of "Mr. Jones Watches":

"Today everyone has a mobile phone to do the really functional timekeeping, this means that the wristwatch is free to do something a bit different. The watches I design reflect and comment on society, both on the role that time plays in all our lives and also on the social impact of technology. Of course because I would like people to wear these watches, I also work very hard to make them beautiful objects in their own right."

Now Available for $145 here-->Link

Also featuring the "Mantra" (below)

The Mantra alternates a very positive statement (e.g. "you are amazing") with a very negative one (e.g. "nobody likes you").Every hour the watch displays one positive message and one negative message (the wedge that you read the statement through is also the hour hand).

Over time The Mantra makes the arrogant person more humble and makes the humble more confident.

The Mantra is inspired by the psychological theories of Émile Coué who promoted the practice of conscious autosuggestion, that is the repeition of positive statements to heal the body or mind; most famously with the phrase "Every day, in every way, I'm getting better and better."

MJW Mantra $145 -->Link

And the MJW "Decider" (below)

The Decider is a watch that helps you make decisions: as the seconds tick round you see either the word "YES" or "NO" displayed on the watch face; when you need to make a decision you simply look at your watch for your answer.

If you are inclined to cheat then you can pull out the winding crown which stops the mechanism temporarily giving you an answer with no ambiguity.

The watch can also answer a more complex question - when you receive it tell the watch what you want to know, then wait until the battery runs out - whatever the watch stops on YES or NO is your final answer...

The Decider doesn't necessarily make the right decision every time, but as the American motivational speaker Brian Tracy puts it, "Decisiveness is a characteristic of high-performing men and women. Almost any decision is better than no decision at all."

or as another contemporary philosopher puts it: "A wrong decision is better than indecision." Anthony 'Tony' Soprano, in "The Sopranos"

Time To F#%K - Vintage 1970 Erotic Mystery Message Watches

Time To F#%K - Vintage 1970 Erotic Mystery Message WatchesTwo vintage mystery dial watches from the late sixties/early seventies with secret dials revealing a not-so-subtle message from a pair of scantily clad tarts. Each of these mechanical erotic novelty watches had a unique feature of discs that obscure the dial most of the time but slowly unveil the other dastardly dirty time of day.

One for those with highly overactive libidos (hourly display) and the other with a more respectable twelve hour time frame. Although anyone who actually wore these was likely not getting any anyway.

Time To F#%K - Vintage 1970 Erotic Mystery Message WatchesThis model featuring the twice daily message

Time To F#%K - Vintage 1970 Erotic Mystery Message WatchesClassy stuff!
One with a transparent disc with floating seconds arrow.

Time To F#%K - Vintage 1970 Erotic Mystery Message WatchesAround the same time, a digital version existed with the same message electronically requested in LED display. If anyone has seen the movie Autofocus about Bob Crane, Willem Dafoe shows his off at a bar to an unsuspecting lady. The filmmakers of Autofocus actually contacted me at the time of production seeking this watch but I could only provide some traditional vintage LED from Hamilton and Compuchron. They did use it for the scene but had to edit the message in.
