One Chloe Bird

I have a beautiful new apartment that I moved into in May.  I am still working my magic and deciding what to add, take away, move around, etc.  I love looking in magazines, both online and in print, to get some inspiration.  I don't always want my place to have the exact same look as the last, even though I keep most of the same furniture.  Today, as the new Matchbook Magazine went live, Katie Armour posted photos, from the issue, on her blog The Neo-Traditionalist.  Katie has great style in my opinion because of the way she mixes things.  The combinations of colours, textures, lines, trends really makes her living space pop.  This apartment is sadly the one she has just left in California, as she moves to New York.  I'm sure her new apartment will be a different twist on her great taste.

Spring Flowers, Food, Fun

These bright colours just POP in this mid-century modern home, from Style at Home. I think that at this time of year I just crave the visual appeal of brights. Photo by Angus McRitchie.

Cure it with Colour!

Wouldn't you love to put this in a frame and display it for a touch of whimsical colour? I was delighted to find this on Trina's blog today and it started me off thinking about colour, colour, colour! You can find more of Holly's work on her Flickr account here.

Same Room, Different Colours

This post on Apartment Therapy really caught my eye. How often do you play with the colours in your decor? Subtle, or not so subtle, changes to colour can really change the entire feeling of the room. I normally go for neutrals, but it was the punchy brights that alerted me to this post in the first place. The bright yellow reminds me of this favourite room.

Rashida Jones' NYC Studio

Rashida Jones' New York City studio apartment was featured in Domino Magazine in the February 2008 issue.

I just discovered a website where devoted followers of Domino are sharing past photos now that the magazine is no more.

These delightful photographs are lovingly borrowed from that online forum, and a website called We Love Domino.
