Workin It

I will be perfectly honest, I have a closet full of clothes.  They are of varying price points and quality, but I have more than enough pieces to get through each season.  Yet, this week, when getting dressed for work, I felt as though I needed something different and fresh.  Here are a few things I scouted (but refrained from splurging on).

Loeffler Randall Fall Flats

I just browsed through the Pre-Fall 2012 Collection on Loeffler Randall's website and the flats above are by far my favourite. They are called the Natalie Cap-Toe Flat in Blush Dot Printed Haircalf.  Swoon.  I love a good polka dot, calf hair shoes, and neutral shades. The three combined make this shoe wearable, for work or play. Click here to see the rest of the pre-fall collection.

I Love Shirtdresses!

Love this Shelly Shirtdress from J. Crew. I will take this moment to say that I am very frustrated with J. Crew right now, as they have introduced new "Canadian" pricing since opening a store in Toronto. All the items that I love have shot up about 15% and I'm hesitating before ordering anything.

Great Work Uniform

I'm all for the work uniform - the style of clothing that you easily fit into, look good in, and feel comfortable and confident in. I almost always wear a dress or a skirt to work, I think this Zara Knitted Dress - seen here - would fit into my bi-weekly rotation quite nicely.

Dressing for Work

This week has been a whirlwind. In with December came lots of winter weather and a seasonable sickness! I have the most terrible cold and feel completely run down. I was thinking today about how usually at this time of year I feel in a bit of a rut with my workwear. I start to feel as if I'm on a constant rotation of the same 5 outfits and, as a result, I feel a little sloppy and very boring. Nothing makes me feel quite as sharp as a new jacket or blazer, so I set my sights on finding a few that would be functional and fashionable. Here's what I came up with!

Dressing for Work
Wilfred Knit Tweed Jacket available at Aritzia.

Dressing for Work
Elizabeth and James Bow Tie Blazer available at Nordstrom.

Dressing for Work
Gap Boucle Peacoat available in stores and online. I tried this on last week and couldn't get over how lovely it was. I would be able to wear it in the winter as a blazer and in the spring as a light jacket. A very versatile piece.

Dressing for Work
Marc by Marc Jacobs Reilly Herringbone Blazer available at Shop Bop.

Dressing for Work
Alexander Wang Collarless Felt Blazer available at Nordstorm.

Dressing for Work
Banana Republic Cotton Sweater Jacket currently on sale in the online shop.

Dressing for Work
T by Alexander Wang Double Breasted Knit Jacket available at Nordstrom.
